PETR VAKOČ

Iam back! A year and two days after my injury I returned back to peloton.

 

My name is Petr Vakoč. I’m a professional road cyclist. I race for the Belgian team Quick Step. I have competed in the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and at the Olympics, I won the Czech national championships and Bronze medal at the European Games.

 

In January 2018, I was hit by a lorry while training in South Africa. I broke six vertebrae and I am lucky to be alive. After 367 days,  three surgeries, months of rehabilitation and gradually increasing the training load I have returned back to the professional peloton.
